UCLA Anderson Class of 2026 Essay Analysis




UCLA Anderson has released its 2023-24 application, with the introduction of a new essay question.



Essay 1: UCLA Anderson seeks to develop transformative leaders who think fearlessly, drive change, and share success. We believe the ability to persevere is an essential component of effective leadership. Please share an example from your personal or professional life where you demonstrated perseverance to accomplish a significant goal or milestone. (250 words maximum)


Optional question: Are there any extenuating circumstances in your profile about which the Admissions committee should be aware? (250 words maximum)


2023/24 essay question analysis


Essay 1

This updated question reflects top schools' continued efforts to attract students who can thrive regardless of challenges that they may face. 250 words will go quickly, so suggest focusing on a challenge that doesn't require too much context to explain. For instance, did you navigate a difficult client or co-worker situation and still help guide the team towards success? As part of your answer, aim to discuss actions you took that illustrate your qualities as a leader.


Optional essay

As with other schools, the optional question is available for you to explain any additional information that you may not have had the space to clarify in other parts of your application.


2023/24 deadlines


Round 1: Application deadline: October 5, 2023, Decision date: December 14, 2023

Round 2: Application deadline: January 4, 2024, Decision date: March 22, 2024

Round 3: Application deadline: April 12, 2024, Decision date: May 17, 2024
